Not that you can probably tell from the photo (which I took on my phone, since I was told to leave the camera at home), but I saw the band Mobile last night, as part of Molson Canadian Rocks Revealed contest.
And I will tell you one thing for sure, and that is that Molson really knows how to throw a party. I showed up late. Well, the doors opened at 7, but Melissa and I showed up just as The Waking Eyes were starting (And Melissa, if your reading this your right, I looked into it, and they did open for Collective Soul at Outlaws. That will teach me to question a woman). Don't get me wrong, it's not as if the waking eyes were bad, but I they just weren't all that great really. But I think their still trying to find their niche.
I think one of the things that Molson did really right here, was that when I walked in the doors, after we signed all of the releases and everything, is the Molson Girls gave us tickets (or coupons) which were good for 2 beers, then they pointed us to where we could exchange said tickets for said beer! Now that was a good way to start out the night, cause I don't think there is many people out there that wouldn't enjoy Free Beer, with a Free Concert! Cudos Molson.
Well, The Waking Eyes probably played for about half an hour, then there was a half hour break.
I'll just say, Mobile will do well, because they really know how to get the crowd going. Ofcourse, it helps that the whole event probably only had about 400 people, so the Intimate factor was Definately there! I mean, their first song definately got peoples attention, and alot of people were feeling it, and swaying along. I was when they played Out of my Head that the crowd really started to get jumping, literally.
Considering that I think to win the tickets it cost me all of fifty cents, and then Gas to drive down town, I would have to say that it was definitely worth while, and the Beer alone was worth my time!
Congradulations Molson, Well done! Mobile, you guys were awesome, and I look forward to hearing more of you, I already bought your cd! Click here to check out their music.
